Sporadic Verizon Service Outage

All hand were on deck this morning when I woke up and could not access our services from home. After some troubleshooting, I finally figured out that this is an isolated incident to my Verizon service. After going through 100 menu options on the phone, I was finally able to speak with a technical support rep and was told that there are outages nationwide causing problems. I was told that this would be resolved in the next 2 hours.

If your internet service provider is Verizon, you may experience problems accessing BitTitan services (and potentially other sites and services on the internet) in which our website may not resolve at all by your browser.

This isn't the first time that Verizon has had an outage. This past weekend, a fire at one of Seattle premiere data centers had a fire which caused an outage.

After spending half an hour on hold yesterday, somebody told me it would be fixed within a few hours. 24 hours later, my internet connection at home is still down.

I'm not a happy camper.

Since Internet connectivity is mission-critical for you as a business, you should look into redundancy.

Most consumer-grade Internet services network services go down at some point or other.

As a business, you should probably have redundancy. It's just your client connection, not your servers. But you might as well save yourself the aggravation, and get DSL + cable, or DSL + 3G, or DSL + satellite.

So we have Verizon DSL and as our ISp becuase unfortunately we're isolated in the middle of nowhere. Connection is having problems, spent 3 hours on hold waiting for a supervisor which at the end ended not to be one on the line. These guys have no idea or care about customer service. If I had another option, I'd switch on a heartbeat.
